Jarjour for Technology cooperates with the Ministry of Health in the implementation of the drug monitoring system
The company Jargour Technology is currently implementing a drug monitoring system project in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the implementation of which was decided by former minister Dr. Ahmed Emad El-Din.
Fadi Farid, director of the company’s barcode and mobile applications department, said that the idea of the project is based on tracking the flow of the medicine package from the beginning of production, passing through distributors, to the patient, who reads the barcode on the medicine package via mobile applications at , and it is sent directly into the electronic system of the Ministry of Health to ensure its validity, thereby contributing to the fight against fake medicines of unknown origin and ensuring that the patient receives the correct dose.
“Farid” explained in an interview for “Al-Mal” that Jarjour started its activity in 1973 and currently employs more than 380 employees, either among engineers in many specialties, programmers and administrative staff in the company’s branches, emphasizing that the company will 28 On August 2023, it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
He added that Jarjour specializes in labeling systems, which means inter-coding goods and products using a price label system and a barcode system, which includes more product pricing information in addition to inkjet numbering.
He hinted that his company has lived through all the economic and political periods that Egypt has witnessed during the previous periods and that despite all the challenges it has managed to complete its work and achieve strong growth rates year after year, stressing that the company, thanks to its historical experience , is committed to its customers by providing after-sales service 24 hours a day every week and solving any problems they face.
He emphasized that his company was one of the first entities to introduce barcode technology to the Egyptian market and that in the eighties of the last century it worked alone in the coding activity without competition for 6 years, which indicates that Jargour’s strategy is based on the development of innovative solutions for new markets such as smart transportation similar to the Al Rehab City model.Egyptian transportation.
He indicated that Jarjour is constantly working to measure the degree of customer satisfaction with the quality of services provided, which is reflected in attracting new customers and increasing market share results, estimating the amount of units sold during the past year with more than 240,000 barcode devices that vary between scanners to read data and others for printing. Barcode and the third in the form of points of sale, the value of which exceeds 489 million pounds.
And he continued: The concept of the barcode depends on replacing the reading of data by the human eye with electronic systems similar to what Morse code implemented during the Second World War by converting letters into codes, followed by the advent of printing presses and the reading of the barcode itself and controlled by a computer device.
He said that the history of the creation of the barcode system dates back to the beginning of the supermarket due to the large number and variety of products, the increase in the number of lines in which customers must pay the value of the goods, and the complexity of the task of manually entering data about the goods, which required the importance of automating this process in order to shorten time, prevented mistakes and reduced worker effort.
He continued that the barcode has multiple applications, including automatic access control systems and electronic inventory operations for warehouses through the coding and digitization of item data, which is currently compatible with the state’s tendency towards digital transformation, which aims to separate the service provider from its recipient. , and the emergence of the concept of e-government which currently includes more than 319 services and what followed from the spread of digital payment services and the development of card forms, all the way to contactless payment services, NFC and QR code.
And he believes that the domestic market, despite the economic challenges it is facing this year, is tied to the system of control of import operations by opening a letter of credit after the approval of the central bank on the value of the loan and the type of import. goods, but the company’s business volume is expected to grow by up to 20% by the end of this year.
He emphasized that the company’s policy is fully aligned with the various directions of the country, especially national initiatives such as the 100 million initiative for health and a decent life, along with the health insurance system, as well as the financial inclusion policy by ensuring the market with the latest technical devices for electronic payment transactions.
Speaking about the application of barcodes in the medical sector, he cited the American experience when former President Bill Clinton admitted that 63% of patient deaths in American hospitals were the result of errors in nursing process management and patient monitoring, which led to the development of hospital management systems using barcodes and the installation coded wristbands on the patient’s wrist, registered It contains a complete file of the patient in which the prescription for treatment, prescribed doses of the drug, names of analyzes and necessary x-rays is printed, and is connected to the nursing cart.
He pointed out that in 1989, the government passed a law requiring the recording of production dates and expiration dates on food, beverages and drugs with non-removable ink, prompting the company to invest its expertise and enter strongly into numbering and inkjet printing systems. and laser, indicating that Jarjour will participate in the 26th session of the Cairo Exhibition and Conference.ICT with a barcode numbering system, which is a computer.
He went on to say: The development of barcode and inkjet printing technology has seen food companies benefit from it and automate the product quality control process on production lines, noting that Jarjour Technology has provided solutions for major food and beverage companies such as PC, Coca-Cola, Nestle and others in the field of industrial printing, quality control and machine reading, especially since barcode reading can reach 4000 products per minute.
On the other hand, he pointed out that Jarjour also plays a key role in the implementation of electronic systems of invoices and invoices, along with the pre-registration of ACI shipments and the company’s role in proving the nature of imported shipments using various barcode applications.
On the other hand, he emphasized that the decision to manufacture barcode devices in Egypt at this time is not feasible from an economic point of view, especially since the laws provide for the exemption of computer accessories from paying any customs duties in exchange for the imposition of customs duties on disassembled parts, and therefore their reassembly expensive for companies.
