Permits for “owners” fell to their lowest level in November

The number of traffic permits for passenger vehicles recorded its lowest level, reaching 7,300 vehicles in different traffic units last November.

According to the Egyptian Association of Compulsory Insurance, since the beginning of this year the number of traffic licenses has decreased by 68.8 percent.

It is significant that the total number of licensed cars during the month of January was around 23,429 traffic units.

“Chery” is first… and “Toyota” falls to 12th place

Al-Mal followed the development of the passenger car licensing map during last November, while Chery took over the sectoral licensing lists after managing to register 1,144 vehicles, followed by Nissan in second place with 844 vehicles.

In third place is “Suzuki” with 552 registered vehicles, and in fourth place is “Chevrolet” with around 495 vehicles.

The Chinese brand “BYD” is in fifth place with 470 licensed vehicles, followed by “MG” in sixth place with 418 vehicles. Hyundai took seventh place with a total of 388 cars, followed by Kia in eighth place with 382 vehicles.

Mercedes took ninth place with 268 vehicles, followed by Renault in tenth place with 250 cars.

Škoda took the eleventh place on the list of the most licensed car brands in Egypt, after it managed to register 243 vehicles in different traffic units in the past month.

While Toyota dropped to twelfth place after managing to register 226 cars, followed by Opel in thirteenth place with around 199 units.

Citroen took fourteenth place with a total of 142 vehicles, followed by Audi in fifteenth place with 127 cars.

“Subaru” took sixteenth place after managing to license 102 vehicles, followed by “Peugeot” in seventeenth place with around 93 vehicles, “Volkswagen” in eighteenth place with around 84 vehicles, followed by “SEAT” in nineteenth place with 70 vehicles. vehicle.

And “Fiat” took the twentieth place in the list of the most licensed brands of “owned” cars in Egypt, registering about 68 vehicles in different traffic units during the past month.

The German brand Mercedes acquired the largest share of luxury car licenses in Egypt, 47%, after it managed to register 268 vehicles in different traffic units last November.

The second place is “Audi” with a market share of 22.5 percent with a total of 127 cars, and the third place is “Range Rover” with a share of 11 percent with 62 vehicles.

The Swedish brand Volvo is in fourth place with a market share of 9.9% with 56 licensed vehicles, followed by BMW in fifth place with a share of 2.5% with around 14 cars.

Porsche ranked sixth in the ranking of the most licensed luxury car brands in Egypt, with a market share of 1.4%, with around 8 vehicles registered, followed by France’s DS in seventh place with a share of 1.1%, with a total of 6 vehicles. in different traffic units during the last month.

The remaining 4.3% of market shares are distributed among other luxury car brands, namely Bentley, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, Cobra, Lamborghini, Maserati, Aston Martin, Land Rover, Jaguar and Mini.

It is important to note that the total number of “luxury” cars licensed in Egypt is about 565 vehicles in different traffic units during the last month.

For his part, Shaaban El-Hawy, one of the car importers, attributed the dominance of “Mercedes” on the largest market share of licenses for luxury models in Egypt – in previous statements – to the marketing policy followed by the parent company, which obliges all its distributors in various countries of the world to provide warranty rights and spare parts. They sell spare parts for all their models to their customers without discrimination, saying: “Any customer who buys a Mercedes car, whether from an authorized dealer or importer, exercises all warranty rights within approved maintenance centers.”

“Hyundai Tucson” is in eleventh place, having managed to license 113 vehicles, followed by “Suzuki Swift” in twelfth place, with 110 units.

The Nissan Sentra and MG ZS came in thirteenth place, with around 101 vehicles registered for each last month.

Renault Megane took the fourteenth place in the list of cars with the most permits in traffic units, after managing to register around 109 vehicles during the past month.

In a related context, Nashat Hetta, CEO of Abu Hetta Group, which specializes in the sale and distribution of many brands, said that locally assembled models top the license list for the passenger car sector due to their availability in the local market in large quantities compared to imported categories that are experiencing a large shortage due to restrictions imposed on imports and the inability of agents and importers to bring new shipments from abroad since the second quarter of this year.

He expected locally assembled models to continue to dominate car sales over the coming period, especially with European and Korean automakers announcing the unavailability of their imported models indefinitely.

He explained that his company was able to produce and deliver the first series of “Shinray” minivans – locally assembled versions – through cooperation with the ATG “Advanced Transportation Group” factory, which carries out local production operations.

He revealed his company’s sales targets for the “Shinray” minivan, estimated at around 2,000 vehicles over the next year.

Al-Mal tracked the number of cars licensed in traffic units by the type of operating systems approved for the vehicles during the period. The total number of licensed vehicles operating with dual-fuel propulsion systems (gasoline/natural gas) is approximately 10,278 vehicles, compared to 65 vehicles operating only on natural gas.

The total number of licensed cars with “gasoline” drive systems was about 263,185 cars, and the number of licensed vehicles with “diesel” drive systems reached about 96,794 cars, compared to 3 vehicles from economy categories that work on dual fuel ” diesel / natural gas”.

The number of permitted used vehicles in different traffic units was around 346,979 vehicles.

The number of new “zero” vehicles of different categories (owners, buses and trucks) in the past month amounted to about 24,737 vehicles.

Ahmed Hatem, director of the “Golden Dragon” brand at the Arab distribution group, “Al-Qasrawy Group”, said that production processes are considered one of the main factors behind the presence of the Chinese brand among the most licensed brands of “microbus” mass transport vehicles, explaining that continued restrictions on import operations strengthened One of the marketing opportunities for locally produced vehicles in the recent period.

Hatem added that the Al-Qasrawy Group is paying close attention to the expansion of the minibus production project to meet the demands of the local market, along with the continuity of supply operations for the initiative to replace old vehicles with natural gas ones.

And the official website of the Vehicle Exchange Initiative announced last September that the “Golden Dragon” vehicle has joined the “Microbus” initiative project, which will be supplied by the Arab Trade and Distribution Group, “Al-Qasrawy Group”, the local agent of the Chinese brand in Egypt.

According to these data, the Chinese brand “King Long” acquired the largest share of licenses for “minibus” vehicles for mass transportation in Egypt, at a rate of 39.7%, registering about 180 vehicles last November.

While “Golden Dragon” climbed to second place with a market share of 32.2 percent with a total license of 146 minibuses, while “Toyota” with 79 vehicles fell to third place with a share of 17.4 percent.

The Chinese brand “Zemex” ranked fourth in the list of brands with the most licenses for “minibus” mass transport vehicles in Egypt, after it managed to increase its market share to 4.2%, with a total of about 19 vehicles.

In fifth place with a market share of 2.4 percent is “Foton” with a total of 11 vehicles licensed in different traffic units, and in sixth place follows “Great Auto” with a share of 1.8 percent with about 8 minibuses.

The rest of the market share of 2.3% is distributed among other brands, with a total license of about 10 minibuses in different traffic units during the past month.

It is important to note that the total number of licensed “minibus” vehicles for mass transportation in Egypt amounted to about 453 units in different traffic units during the last month.
