Ladies and gentlemen,

Your Majesties, Excellencies and Highnesses,
This honorable gathering meets for the second time after our first summit, which Baghdad hosted in August 2021, when we pledged together to support the national efforts of our brothers in Iraq, the government and the people, to achieve the security and stability of our country, to preserve its sovereignty and restore its historical status and its active Arab and regional role.

Our meeting today comes as we witness a tangible improvement in conditions in Iraq, and I take this opportunity to extend my sincere congratulations to the Iraqi Prime Minister / Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and the dear Iraqi people on completing the stages of constitutional law, in a way that paves the way for moving forward.

Gentlemen,
The convening of our summit meeting today carries with it an important political indication of our intention to continue providing all means of support to fraternal Iraq and our sincere desire to move to a new phase of partnership by strengthening work in bilateral or multiple cooperation frameworks such as the tripartite cooperation mechanism between Egypt , Iraq and Jordan or others. Our meeting also represents an opportunity to exchange views and explore new horizons for coordination and cooperation between our country and Iraq in support of the path towards stability and in a way that improves our capabilities in dealing with the challenges associated with international crises and inter-national crises arising from them. border challenges in the areas of health, food safety, energy, supply chains, etc., in such a way as to realize the interests of our people.

For many years, Iraq faced the extremely negative repercussions of the spread of terrorism and extremist ideology, and the scourge of protracted conflicts and wars, in a context that was not devoid of external interference, in a way that burdened Iraqis, and its effects reverberated on all nations in the region.
In this sense, Egypt highly appreciates the brave and precious efforts and sacrifices of the fraternal Iraqi people of all levels of society in facing these challenges, and the important achievements of the Iraqi state that enabled the restoration of the role of state institutions, the elimination of dark terrorist projects, the achievement of security, stability and sovereignty of the country , and preserving the unity of its fabric. I also do not fail to praise the efforts of the Iraqi state in terms of initiating reconstruction projects and paving the way to achieve a comprehensive development shift through the optimal use of the country’s capabilities, capabilities and resources.

Allow me, from this podium, to reaffirm Egypt’s full support for these tireless efforts, which significantly contribute to the consolidation of the concept of a secure and stable homeland. Iraq’s success is a success for all of us.

The successive crises witnessed by many countries in the region over the past decades have proven that achieving complete stability has indispensable requirements, starting with strengthening the role of the nation-state that unites and enabling its institutions to carry out their tasks in preserving security, maintaining the rule of law, dealing with external forces and preserving the capabilities and wealth of the people. This will provide an appropriate environment for the progress of the economy, sustainable development and consolidation of the foundations of good governance.

In fairness, these goals will not be achieved if the culture of moderation, tolerance and acceptance of the other is not supported in a way that guarantees the enjoyment of the right to freedom of religion and belief, and overcoming the concepts of sectarianism, extremism, divisions and reactionary ideas that have no place in our current to time… The world accepts everyone… and diversity is not possible. Dealing with this by continuing long-term battles in which there are neither winners nor losers.

In this context, by convening our summit meeting today, we want to renew our commitment to the established principles of international relations, which are stated in the spirit and purpose of the Charter of the United Nations, of which, above all, are good neighborliness, non-interference in internal affairs, non-aggression, mutual respect for the sovereignty of states, the cessation of imposition fait accompli policies and the importance of acting to achieve mutual benefit.

Based on the above, Egypt confirms its rejection of any external interference in the affairs of Iraq, and the importance of continuing joint efforts to raise the capacity of Iraqi state institutions in various fields, as this is the best way to preserve security and sovereignty. this ancient country, and its effects will affect the security of other countries.

With Egypt’s belief in the benefits of constructive mutual cooperation, we participated with Iraq and Jordan in launching a tripartite cooperation mechanism between the three countries as one of the frameworks for joint Arab action aimed at achieving integration in a way that serves the interests of our countries. fraternal peoples in the light of historical and fraternal relations that bind them, unity of destiny and common goals. In this regard, I reaffirm our intention to move forward with the implementation of joint projects that are currently being studied within the framework of the mechanism, in a way that contributes to the achievement of the desired development of our peoples and enables them to mutually benefit from opportunities.

Finally, I would like to address the brotherly people of Iraq, so I say, O great people of Mesopotamia, I am fully confident in your ability to move forward to a more prosperous future in accordance with your ancient civilization that has contributed to shaping the history of mankind. You are characterized by pluralism and the abilities you possess that will allow you to overcome all challenges, no matter what they may be.. You have achieved a lot to rebuild your country.. and you must complete your achievements on the path of construction, development and development.. and you always will in Egypt find help for you.. and support for your aspirations and choices… so that Iraq remains He has always been one of the castles of the Arab and one of the most important centers of civilization in the Arab and Islamic world.
Thank you.
