Delayed thoughts come back at night reading in the novel “Another” by the writer Muhammad Al-Qasabi

Muhammed Al-Qasabi, a creative writer, and Muhammed Al-Qasabi, a writer-journalist, are two sides of the same coin, contained in the two covers of a book published in 2022 by the Levant Gift for Cultural Studies and Publishing. She was dressed in the dress of the novel “Another One”, on top of which is a cover dominated by gray in its dark and light shades. She reveals a picture in the middle of the cover of a young man sitting in a depressed depression. His face disappears into his clenched hands, and next to him is the face of a woman, which radiates brightness and intelligence. The book’s page count is (130) of medium length, and ends with a few pages reflecting the author’s autobiography, in which he came from the village of Al-Maasra in Belqas, Dakahlia, to join the Faculty of Information, Cairo University in 1975, then became a member of the Syndicate journalist and Writers’ Association and secretary of the Stories Club. All this is reflected in his journalistic career, activities, articles, political, cultural and social research, participation in the development of the institution where he worked, as well as creative publications (five novels and four collections of short stories) in addition to two books “Intellectuals and Spies” in 2016. .to the Dar Akhbar Al-Youm Foundation and the book “My messages to the woman of my dreams, a lover’s delirium in his last five minutes 2021 about the Sudanese, Egyptian, Emirati house. So, we are talking about a diligent, persistent personality who knows what he wants and what he has to do. The title of the novel “The Other” is not only an entrance to the text with its opening that reveals its entrances and corridors, but a very complex philosophical meaning perhaps inspired by the masterpiece of the French existentialist philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre when he wrote his famous play The Closed Doors, during which he repeats the famous phrase “Hell is the Others”. In it, he pointed out that hell is not fire and wood and burning, but you can find hell in others who live your life’s path. Thus, the knowledgeable narrator and hero of the “second” text falls into the dilemma of Sartre’s hell through the idea of a bald man who mounted his wife and slept with her to such an extent that her tongue slipped on her name. this bald man instead of his name in the moment of their deep intimacy. This idea remained latent within the husband or the learned storyteller for a quarter of a century before it suddenly emerged one morning into his consciousness and took hold of his faculties in an incredible way. If we were to approach things in a shameful way, it seems that only getting into his head the idea of the “infidelity” of his wife “Iman” twenty-five years ago and her sleeping with a bald man (they met him once and he was not even close to us friend) is an obsessive idea. Then he vowed throughout the text to look for evidence to support this idea, then he sought therapeutic and medical help from a psychiatrist and failed, or loosely removed excess tension with his reliable and intelligent younger sister and did either resort to a sheikh in a mosque after wandering On the streets there was a desire for inner conviction, and it did not happen, or his search for effective treatment from a transient Moroccan sheikh, so his confusion and doubts deepened. His beliefs developed and solidified in the need for his wife (Qusaria) to admit to the act of betrayal, as it will comfort him and later decide her fate with him, but of course she refuses and don’t even remember when that verbal gag happened with her side. Then we later discover that the confused husband, who lives in the hell of the idea that his wife cheated on him a quarter of a century ago, has a positive history of dull depression, but no one noticed, and his career continued to study and work until he married Iman who loved and adored him. He gave birth to their son Yassin, who became a beautiful young man. And we draw from the journey of the wretched storyteller

First:The idea of delayed betrayal (for twenty-five years already), which in its obsessive form dominated his head and his life, is an exaggerated reflection of his fear of an imagined threat, of course, from his wife who could not give birth to only one male child, and failure of all their attempts to conceive again.

Else: A wife or “other” who has become a threatening and defiant symbol despite the passage of time because their relationship is still beautiful, elegant, in love with life and her husband and tries to appease him in every way (reflecting her quiet and contented rural upbringing) can be objective the equivalent of loving and adoring life and wanting to continue in it, which is the opposite of the nihilistic depression he carried from birth, hiding his fangs and delaying the appearance with such ferocity until the opportunity came to pounce and emerge to openly declare himself and his quarrel with life and his asceticism in it and the destruction of everything related to it from a peaceful married life and a beautiful young man (his son Yassin) and work and friends after doubts became dominant in his head and lead his life.

The third: The writer, the storyteller or the miserable husband shows an extraordinary passion for psychology and psychiatry which is equal to the same passion for getting information through the Internet and social networks and scattering it throughout the text in a way that sometimes seemed excessive, and in some aspects of the text left difficulties, in addition to a certain extent and exaggeration. What is the use of the language of “journalistic investigation” in reference to some events or stories, such as the issue of the culture of polygamy, but also incidents? marital infidelity. There is also a lot of exaggerated information gathered in the context of those who support the idea of polygamy, which is against logic and even Sharia, but it indisputably confirms the power of the sexual instinct in men, and the question of how to manage it wisely! Perhaps this justifies the author’s elaboration on this topic.

fourth: In the context of his simple, smooth and attractive narrative language, the writer used both sides of the coin, the language of the writer-storyteller and the language of the journalist-writer who tries to get information, and simply enumerates his ideas, clearly and with great economy in narration. The writer managed to play with currency throughout the entire fictitious text, he possessed the skill of pushing the journalist whenever he needed a journalist, and the writer who has a good command of the tools of narration and description used his distinctive narrative language whenever he needed the language of a literary narrator.
