Esperance Sportive de Tunis managed to continue their domestic dominance for the fifth consecutive year, after winning the Tunisian Championship, Cup and Super Cup.
At continental level, Esperance failed to win the African Champions Club Championship, after losing in the last round of the competition to Egypt’s Al-Ahly.
In the women’s competition, the Carthage Women’s Club continued its dominance by winning the triple championship, cup and excellent cup for the third season in a row.
World record for Walid Boudiaf
In the non-Olympic specialty, diving, Tunisian Walid Boudiaf won the title of world champion at the World Championship organized by the International Association for the Development of Diving (AIDA), which was held in Honduras.
Boudiaf’s crown came after he cleared a distance of 116 meters in free diving in a time of 3 minutes 54 seconds, giving Tunisia the gold medal and the world crown of the competition.

Enas Boubakry throws down the handkerchief
On September 23, 2022, Tunisian fencing champion Enas Boubakary announced her final retirement and end of her sports career, ahead of qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Tunisian and African champion Nihal Sheikh Roho has announced her retirement from judo at the age of 35, after a grueling career that lasted 17 years.
Sheikh Roho announced her retirement at the beginning of November last year. It is worth noting that Sheikh Roho has won 22 African championships along with many medals in major awards, and her greatest success remains the bronze medal at the 2017 World Championship.
