Content of the conversation

At the beginning of the session, the Council was informed about the content of the talks that took place between His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister – may God protect him – with the Prime Minister of Georgia during his official visit to the Kingdom, and what they included in the review of the close friendly relations between the two countries and the manner of their development in all fields, along with the exchange of opinions on the current situation on the regional and international level.

After that, the Government dealt with the entire foreign policy activities of the state in recent days, in light of the Kingdom’s desire to strengthen cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries and to further support international action. In a way that contributes to strengthening development and prosperity and building a better future for the region and its peoples.

Emphasis on the position of the Kingdom in Iraq

His Excellency Acting Minister of Information, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency after the meeting that the Council renewed what the Kingdom confirmed during its participation in the Baghdad Conference on Cooperation and Partnership. held in Jordan, to stand by Iraq to preserve its stability, preserve its sovereignty, support its development efforts and restore its historical status. And advance it into a new phase in which the national interest takes precedence over any other considerations.

The Council of Ministers welcomed the approval of the first ministerial meeting of law enforcement agencies on the fight against corruption in the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was held under the presidency of the Kingdom (the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Agreement), which aims to improve cooperation and contribute to the prevention of corruption crimes and limiting safe havens for the corrupt.

The Kingdom is the first in the world among donor countries

The Council considered that the Kingdom achieved the first place in the world among donor countries in the provision of official development aid (humanitarian and development) during 2021, according to the data of the Committee for Development Aid of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, as a reflection of the approach of this country, which through throughout its history, it was and still is a country that lends a helping hand to those who are worried and in need of help, wherever they are.

The Council of Ministers considered the topics that were on the agenda, including topics in the study of which the Shura Council participated, also considered the conclusions of the Council for Economic and Development Affairs, the Council for Political and Security Affairs, the General Committee of the Council of Ministers, and the Expert Council in the Council ministers.

Decisions of the session

The council concluded the following:

First:

Approval of the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and rationalization of its consumption between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia.

Else:

Approval of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Greece in the field of energy.

The third:

Approval of the Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Sports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of State for Digital Affairs, Culture, Media and Sport of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for cooperation in the field of sports.

fourth:

Approval of the memorandum of understanding for the establishment of the Saudi-Thai Coordination Council.

Fifth:

Authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Health – or his representative – to discuss with the Cuban side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of health between the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Public Health of the Republic of Cuba, sign it and then transmit the final signed copy to complete regular procedures.

Sixth:

Approval of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of news between the Saudi Press Agency in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Information of the Sultanate of Oman represented by the Oman News Agency.

Seventh:

Approval of the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Djibouti in the field of maritime transport.

Eighth:

Approval of the agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Czech Republic in the field of air transport.

Ninth:

Approval of the cooperation agreement between the Presidency of the State Security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the National Department for Documentation and State Protection of the United Republic of Comoros in the field of combating terrorist crimes and their financing.

Power system approval.

Amendment and amendment of the regulation of the General Authority for Market Competition, issued by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers no. (55) dated 1/20/1439 Hijri, by depositing all revenues of the body into the current account of the Ministry of Finance in the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia.

twelfth:

Amendment of Article (61) of the Unified Customs Law of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, approved by Royal Decree no. (M / 41) dated 11/3/1423 Hijra, which refers to the formation of a committee to judge the value of imported goods, as stated in the decision.

thirteen:

Approval of promotion to (fifteenth) and (fourteenth) rank, as follows:

dr. Ahmed bin Aziz bin Hammoud Al-Otaibi has been promoted to the position of (Provincial Secretary) at the (fifteenth) rank in the Taif Governorate Municipality.

Ali bin Hassan bin Ali Al-Ajmi has been promoted to the position of (Senior Business Advisor) at (rank fifteen) in the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.

Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Ali Al-Asiri has been promoted to the position of (Senior Business Advisor) at the (fifteenth) rank in the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.

Ali bin Saleh bin Ahmed Al-Ghamdi has been promoted to the position of (Technology Consultant in Information Technology Engineering) at the (fourteenth) rank in the Secretariat of the Economic and Development Affairs Council / General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.

The Council of Ministers also considered a number of general topics on its agenda, including the annual reports of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Center for Allocation and Liquidation, the Authority for the Care of Persons with Disabilities, the Saudi Geological Survey, the Non-Oil Income Development Center and Imam Abdul Rahman University bin Faisal.
